Meridian Foods is launching the first-ever Dry Roasted Peanut Butter in January 2015.
The UK’s leading producer of nut and seed butters, which do not include palm oil, is introducing the dry roasted variant to offer peanut butter fans a completely new taste.
Made with 95% roasted peanuts, 4% yeast extract and 1% salt, the new peanut butter brings an entirely new-tasting peanut butter to the category and extends the current range, which includes crunchy and smooth variants of Peanut Butter, Cashew Butter and Almond Butter.
Sue McIntosh, Marketing Manager at Meridian Foods comments: “We’re delighted to be launching a dry roasted variant and broadening the Meridian Nut Butter offer. We always seek to be ahead of the field and with interest in our nut butters increasing are continually looking at ways to bring fresh ideas to the category. Combining our Peanut Butter and Meridian Yeast Extract to create a savoury spread for toast and rice cakes seemed liked a logical step and one that we believe will have lots of appeal. Peanut butter blends well with both sweet and savoury flavours, as seen by many brands in the USA, and our aim is to bring new consumers with a discerning palette into the category by delivering unique flavoursome tastes.”
